On Friday 16 February before 21h00, a CORTAC Tactical Vehicle was on routine patrol in Parkhurst when the Tactical Officers spotted some unusual activity outside a non-client's home. They stopped to investigate and their vehicle came under direct gun fire. Our Tactical Officers instantly returned rifle fire at the suspects causing them to flee the scene.
CORTAC back up arrived together with the CORTAC Canine Unit and tracked a firearm and a blood trail. Upon further investigation the first suspect was found, still armed with his firearm. He was successfully arrested.
Parkview SAPS had the foresight and initiative to send one of their top constables to the Jhb Gen and Alex clinic, where the other two suspects were found and arrested.
CORTAC would like to thank everyone who was involved last night, particularly the Parkview SAPS who did an incredible job.
